IRDA & DieBold-- Felons writing the programs!!
I want to bring a light to an article I read here at BradsBlog. I would strongly suggest reading it if you are concerned about the voting machines we use in our political process.
Apparently an IRDA (Infrared Data Association) port is appearing on the machines.

What is that port for?
Why is this port on the voting machines we use?
The port is used to exchange data with another computer or printer without using a cable connection. IrDA requires line-of-sight transmission like a TV remote control. IrDA is made up of the IrDA Serial IR physical layer (IrDA-SIR), which provides a half-duplex connection of up to 115.2 Kbps. This speed allows the use of a low-cost UART chip; however, higher non-UART, high-speed extensions up to 4 Mbps for Fast Infrared (FIR) have also been defined. IrDA uses the Infrared Link Access Protocol (IrLAP), an adaptation of HDLC, as its data link protocol. The Infrared Link Management Protocol (IrLMP) is also used to provide a mechanism for handshaking and multiplexing of two or more different data streams simultaneously. To learn more about what this port feel free to visit IrDA uses (brief)
Why would the voting machines need wireless connections? Well, my first answer would be that each vote would have to reach a main machine (peer to peer) in order to be counted easily. Perhaps it is a solution of connecting each voting machine in each precinct without a bunch of cable mess. Or perhaps these ports are allowing each machine to be reached under wireless connection so that information or files inside the machine could be altered without a trace.
I read some interesting stuff here at VotersUnite that you can review yourself.
Jeffrey Dean- Jeffrey Dean was convicted on 23 counts of felony embezzlement by rigging a computer system to steal. He later became the programmer for Diebold who created the 1.96 optical scan system. Black Box Voting is looking into Dean's circle of contacts because of his instant rise as an insider in U.S. elections after getting out of prison -- gaining government contracts that made him a millionaire, from King County and British Columbia, and developing software used nationwide. Dean was programming election software in the King County Elections office in the King County Administration building.
John Elder- He is a convicted narcotics trafficker. He worked at the DieBold ballot printing plant.
King County Elections had been contracting with Jeff Dean's company (Spectrum) since 1996 and with a company run by his brother (PSI Group) -- where Jeffrey Dean and John Elder also worked -- since 1995.
There appears to have been no investigation by King County as to what program changes Jeffrey Dean made to the King County software. King County continues to use at least three programs developed by Dean (Mailware, VoteRemote, and FrontEnd ballot software, which have been incorporated into Diebold's operations).
The Deans were rewarded for Jeffrey Dean's ballot printing and election software programming work in a $4 million buyout by Global Election Systems shortly before election 2000. The Deans became the largest stockholders of Global Election Systems, and Jeffrey Dean took a position on the board of directors. Part of the $4 million was in stock; when Diebold bought Global, a devaluation occurred that doesn't seem clearly explained in the SEC documents. The result was that the Deans got $3.4 million instead of $4 million.
To learn more about these two you can go directly to the Black Box Voting website. Here is another website you can check out BlackBoxVoting.Org.
Amazing information here!!! We still have people wondering if there was real voter fraud going on? (laughing hysterically) dum de dum....
